Ausnutria Advances R&D Capabilities through Industry-Academia Partnerships
Recently, the kickoff meeting for the Changsha Major Special Project ("OPO Structured Lipid Directed Enzyme Conversion" Project) and the awarding ceremony of the Hunan Provincial Graduate Student Joint Training Base (Central South University & Ausnutria Graduate Student Joint Training Base) were held at the Ausnutria Basic Life Nutrition Scientific Research Center. This event signifies the continuous enhancement of Ausnutria's scientific research and innovation capabilities.
Professor Hongbo Zhou and Associate Professor Yuguang Wang from the School of Minerals Processing and Bioengineering at Central South University, Huanhuan Li, the Base Construction Supervisor of the Graduate School Training Management Office at Central South University, Xin Tan, General Manager of Hunan Wanquan Yuxiang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wanquan Biotechnology"), Di Chen, Technical R&D Manager, and Zixuan Zhou, Assistant to the General Manager, as well as Wei Li, Dean of the Ausnutria China R&D Institute, Dr. Jiaqi Wang, Chief Scientist, and Dr. Lina Pan, Manager of Basic Research and Intellectual Property at the R&D Institute, attended the event.

Conference Exchange Session
At the meeting, Wei Li, Dean of Ausnutria China R&D Institute, expressed his sincere gratitude to the attending experts and extended congratulations on the approval of Changsha's Major Special Project and the establishment of the Hunan Provincial Graduate Joint Training Base. He emphasized that the project approval and the establishment of the base represent the achievements cultivated through Ausnutria's years of persistent multi-faceted industry-academia-research collaboration and its in-depth efforts to empower high-quality development. Industry-academia-research cooperation serves as a vital "catalyst" for corporate growth and a powerful means to enhance regional innovation capabilities. He expressed hope that this collaboration would actively foster new models of industry-academia-research synergy, promote deeper integration, and achieve mutual benefits for all parties involved.
It is reported that the initiated Changsha Major Special Project, titled "Directed Enzymatic Synthesis of OPO Structured Lipids," was jointly applied by Ausnutria as the lead organization, together with Central South University and Wanquan Biotechnology. This project received official approval from the Changsha Science and Technology Bureau in January 2023. The project aims to modify and develop lipases with high Sn-1,3 positional specificity for the synthesis of OPO, establish corresponding optimized synthesis processes, and conduct pilot-scale production. These efforts will help reduce the production cost of OPO, enhance product market competitiveness, break the foreign monopoly on OPO synthesis enzymes and production technologies, and address the current "bottleneck" issues in industrial OPO production. Furthermore, by developing novel lipases to synthesize human milk-fat substitutes, the project can provide more ingredient options for infant formula enterprises, promote industrial transformation and upgrading, increase the market share of domestic infant formula products, and support sustainable development of the industry.
To further clarify the project's research objectives, implementation plan, task allocation, and assessment criteria, and to lay a solid foundation for smooth project execution and subsequent acceptance procedures, Ausnutria, as the project undertaking unit, organized this launch meeting for the Changsha Major Special Project. During the meeting, Dr. Lina Pan, the project leader, provided a detailed presentation on the project overview and management requirements. Furthermore, Dr. Lina Pan, in her capacity as project leader, signed the project implementation agreements with the respective leaders of the participating units: Professor Zhou Hongbo of Central South University and Mr. Xin Tan , General Manager of Wanquan Biotechnology.
As an enterprise that has expanded from Hunan to the global stage, Ausnutria has established a long-term and solid collaborative foundation with Central South University since its early days, spanning scientific research, platform development, talent cultivation, and public science education. To further deepen university-enterprise cooperation and enhance the training of application-oriented talent, Ausnutria and Central South University jointly established a Graduate Joint Training Base in 2021. In December 2022, this base was officially certified by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education as the Hunan Provincial Graduate Joint Training Base. This recognition once again affirms the achievements of Ausnutria and Central South University in deepening industry-education integration and advancing university-enterprise collaboration.

Award Ceremony for the Hunan Provincial Graduate Joint Training Base
The licensing ceremony of the Hunan Provincial Graduate Joint Training Base will inaugurate a new chapter in the deepened collaboration between Ausnutria and Central South University. During the ceremony, Huanhuan Li, Base Construction Supervisor of the Graduate School Training Management Office at Central South University, and Wei Li, Dean of Ausnutria China R&D Institute, unveiled the plaque for the Joint Training Base. Professor Hongbo Zhou, Associate Professor Yuguang Wang, Dr. Jiaqi Wang, and Dr. Lina Pan witnessed the unveiling. Professor Hongbo Zhou of Central South University presented certificates to Dr. Lina Pan and Dr. Wenli Kang, appointing them as Off-Campus Part-Time Supervisors of Central South University. Both parties expressed their commitment to utilizing the joint base as a platform and projects as carriers to further enhance the quality of graduate education and scientific development, support the continuous training and advanced education of technical talents in the enterprise, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
